In a solid paragraph (250 words or more), choose one of the ten points addressed in the “Manifesto” and reflect upon its meaning and viability. Consider yourself in a position of authority, a leader in the community (even a member of Congress), and you have to respond to this “request” with appropriate language so as not to enrage or alienate anyone who may not agree with what you say, especially those that are advocating for the change and/or alterations in public policy being addressed in this particular point. You may think the point being made here is outlandish, impossible, or even self-serving, but bear in mind that this comes from a people who are angry at being mistreated and misunderstood and are simply asking, even if it doesn’t sound like it to you, for an equal opportunity. Or you may think it’s a valid point but needs to be taken under consideration. Whatever your “gut” reaction might be, you need to be honest, fair, and firm in explaining your position.
