I’m studying for my History class and need an explanation.
Part 1: Written Part
Write a 2+ page paper focusing on a single group (i.e., women, African Americans, workers, immigrants, children, Indigenous Nations, etc.) and the changes that occurred to that group specifically during the decades from the early 1880s through the 1920s. Think about how that group was affected by the Gilded Age, Progressive Era, wars, technology, political and social events.
At a minimum, include an explanation of the following: who were the significant figures what were the significant events/legislation during those decades. Additional research is highly recommended and can include information such as:
· What were the conditions at the start of the 1880s?
· What were the significant challenges to full participation/freedom for them?
· Who stepped up to help/fight for their rights? (why?)
· What efforts were made to correct the significant challenges?
· Did those efforts succeed?
NOTE: Be specific in your examples and cite all sources. The textbook can be a source, but you will need more information than is found in the text, so plan to include at least two (2) additional academic references. Citations need to be in either Chicago, APA, or MFA format. Over the last several years, the improvement with Wikipedia has been significant; I would start any additional research there. (check out the footnotes in an article that aligns with your topic. They are an ideal place to start) You may cite Wikipedia in your paper; however, for dates ONLY. Any other information will need an additional source.
